A resort community on the shores of Lake Huron, Oscoda serves as a convenient gateway to the Huron National Forest. Paddlewheel river boat trips on the Au Sable River are available with AuSable River Queen Cruises, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about historic and scenic points of interest on a narrated, two-hour cruise. For a relaxing, scenic drive, take a trip on the 22-mi (35-km) River Road National Forest Scenic Byway and be sure to stop at the various points of interest, including Lumbermens Monument Visitor Center, Eagle's Nest Overlook and Iargo Springs.
